A little bit about us, John and I met at the University of California, Merced on the 3rd day of moving on campus. We hadn't even settled into our dorms when we crossed paths at the Dining Center. John and his friends approached my roommates and I and asked if they could sit with us. John sat in front of me and it was like love at first sight. We dated for 5 years (3 of those years were long distance) and we finally said our "I do's" 2 years ago.
We will never get tired of telling our love story because it is just so special. We know you come with your own unique story; one story, two souls who fell in love coming together to join as one on your wedding day. We can guarantee you 100% that you will NOT regret having your wedding filmed! Having one of the most important days of your life captured and told in a way that captures the true essence of your love is so important and it is what we do best!

Being filmmakers is so much more than standing in front of the camera and pressing record. We believe our work starts from the moment you inquire to the moment we deliver your film and beyond. We want you to think of us as your friends that you can reach out to for help. Need vendor recommendations? we got you. Need some coffee on your wedding day? we got you!
I think what separates us from most videographers is our intentionality behind everything we do. From the moment we meet, we want you to know that we are here for you and want to celebrate your love. Our wish is to be a breath of fresh air for you in the planning process and make sure you are taken care of. We also know how important your wedding day is so we want to make sure we have everything we need to capture your big day!
First, we meet with our couples to get to know each other as we believe getting to know our couples helps us craft the perfect wedding film. As we approach your wedding day, we set up some time to review your wedding timeline, brainstorm ideas, and put together the framework for how you would like your day to be captured.
Your wedding day only happens once but your film is for a lifetime, you deserve to have it captured intentionally
On your wedding day, we will be ready to capture it all. We know that it may be intimidating to get in front of the camera, don’t worry, We make filming easy and relaxing so you can feel comfortable around the camera and enjoy the BEST DAY EVER. Once we captured your wedding we intentionally craft your own personalized wedding film.
Trust us, we will make you a bomb video that will put nothing but smiles on your faces for years to come!
Our love for wedding filmmaking started long before John and I met. To begin, my husband has always loved filming. He remembers picking up his dad's video camera when he was just 8 years old and start directing his siblings to make silly home videos. He's also always loved technology and even to this day he wants the latest and greatest technology.
I (Tania) love anything cheesy and romantic. You can say I was a hopeless romantic before I met John. I've also always loved making videos of our relationship because it reminded me of the romcoms I loved watching.
Together, with our deep rooted belief in marriage, John's love for technology and filming and my love for creating films, we started Simply Captured by Valencia.
John and I have combined what we love to tell your love story, to craft your own personalized film that you’ll have for years and generations to come. A film you can watch back with your kids and get pulled back into that day, to relive all those feelings and emotions you felt on your wedding day, and to remind you why you married your better half.
That's what makes us so passionate about filmmaking. The fact that we get to witness your love and then put it together in a film that is unique to you and driven by your love story.
Every couple has a unique story. The way you met, what caught your attention, and what sparked your love. We want to be the ones to tell your story.

On the day of your wedding we will arrive bright and early to capture one of the most important, memorable days of your life, ready to get every single moment on film!
We love capturing your wedding details first (wedding rings, earrings, necklace, garter, wedding invitations, perfume, etc.). Give us all the details and we will capture them! We also like finding a clutter free space to hang your dress and capture it on film.
We will be there to capture the mother of the bride and the bridal squad helping the bride get ready and the groomsmen sneaking a few drinks to get the day started! This is usually when we mic up the groom.
Once we have captured everything, we head to the ceremony to mic up the officiant, mic up the DJ, and set up our gear; ready for the ceremony to begin. We like to set up in two different angles to capture the bride walking down the aisle and the groom’s reaction.
We will film throughout the entire ceremony to make sure we capture it all! Once you say your “I Do’s” my husband and I head over to film some clips of the two of you with your family members/bridesmaids + groomsmen. This is also when we pull out our drone to capture footage of the venue and get all those details from your wedding (Cake, wedding favors, signage, wedding decor, etc.)
Most importantly, we promise we will be there in the center of it all as a wallflower behind the scenes, capturing moments and details that you might’ve missed like your parents congratulating your spouse, or your hubby pulling some dance moves with his buddies!
Rain, hail or shine, we won’t miss a beat!
That’s a little sneak peek into our life and a few of our favorite things. No matter who we are or where we’re at, we all have a unique story to share. No tale is one and the same and that’s why we LOVE documenting love stories (and hopefully yours too!)
Outside filmmaking we absolutely love traveling and anything outdoors. Hiking, biking, going on picnics, traveling to different National Parks, you name it! We’ve been to at least 15 different hiking trails both in California and Utah.
We also love spending quality time with each other, that means silencing our phones and having uninterrupted time to talk about our day and ways we can be better for each other.
When we're not traveling or spending quality time with each other, we're probably visiting our parents because family means everything to us!
